(NYSE: HHC), a GSPIN constituent, is a real estate development company that was spun off from General Growth Properties (NYSE: GGP), a mall REIT emerging from bankruptcy in 2010. Howard Hughes may have the potential to continue to improve its business, however, the development of its property assets is still in the early stages: “We believe recent prices paid for its planned developments in Hawaii justify the valuation of the entire company, and the scope of New York’s South Street Seaport development continues to grow as the company identifies additional value-creating opportunities.”
